Who this is about

Your Brazil Guide is run by Logan Robert Dalmas, registered as an individual microentrepreneur (MEI) in Brazil under CNPJ 67.540.009/0001-66, at Rua Recanto das Gaivotas 350, Florianópolis, SC 88048-652, Brazil. It is a one-person business, and that person is the one who reads your messages.

This policy covers yourbrazilguide.com and any email or messaging correspondence that follows from it.

The short version

• The only information you actively give us comes through two forms: the trip inquiry form and the free-guide signup.
• We use it to reply to you, to plan trips for the people who become clients, and to send occasional emails you can unsubscribe from at any time.
• We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
• A few well-known service providers — for form delivery, our mailing list, website analytics and hosting — process data on our behalf, and they are based in the United States.
• You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold. Email us.

What we collect, and when

When you send a trip inquiry

The inquiry form asks for your name and email, and optionally your rough travel dates, how many people are travelling, which destinations interest you, and a free-text message. Only name and email are required. Whatever you write in the message field is up to you — please do not include sensitive details you do not need to share at this stage.

When you request the free guide

The signup form collects your first name and email so we can send you the guide and add you to our mailing list.

When you email or message us

If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we keep that correspondence so we have a record of the conversation.

If you become a client

Planning and booking a trip means we collect more — for example travellers' full names as they appear on passports, dates of birth, and flight or accommodation preferences — as needed to make bookings. We ask for that information directly, by email, at the point it is needed, and we tell you why. No payment is taken through this website.

Automatically, when you visit

Like almost every website, our host records basic technical information in server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and to keep the site running. We also use website analytics — see the next section.

Cookies and analytics

When analytics is active, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use it: which pages are read, how people move through the site, and roughly where in the world visitors are. This uses cookies and similar technology. We have set it up not to collect more than we need, and we do not use it for advertising.

A short notice appears at the bottom of the site the first time you visit. You can dismiss it and carry on (analytics stays on), block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We do not use advertising pixels — no Meta/Facebook pixel, none others — and we do not run ad campaigns that track you back to this site.

Why we use your information

Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD) requires a lawful basis for each use. Ours are:

• Replying to your inquiry and discussing a possible trip — because you asked us to (steps taken at your request before any contract, and our legitimate interest in responding).
• Planning and booking a trip once you are a client — to perform our agreement with you.
• Sending the free guide and monthly emails — with your consent, given when you sign up.
• Sending occasional marketing emails to people who have inquired — our legitimate interest in telling past enquirers about relevant things. You can opt out at any time.
• Keeping financial and tax records — because Brazilian law requires it.
• Keeping the website secure and working, and measuring its use — our legitimate interest in running and improving the business, and, for analytics, your consent where your location requires it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for others' marketing. We do use a small number of service providers who handle data on our instructions:

• Formspree (USA) — delivers inquiry-form submissions to our email.
• Kit (ConvertKit) (USA) — runs our mailing list and sends the guide and newsletter.
• Google Analytics (USA) — website usage analytics, when active.
• Cloudflare (USA) — hosts and serves the website.
• Email and messaging providers — standard email and WhatsApp, used to correspond with you.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

Where your information goes

We are in Brazil; the providers above are in the United States. Using this site and contacting us means your information will be transferred to and stored in those countries. We rely on those providers' standard contractual protections for international transfers. If you would rather not have your data handled this way, please do not submit the forms — email us instead and we will work out the best way to help.

How long we keep it

• Inquiries that do not become trips: while we are in touch and for a reasonable period afterward, then deleted — normally within about two years.
• Client records: for as long as needed to deliver the trip, and afterward as required by Brazilian tax and accounting rules, which is generally five years.
• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe, after which we remove or suppress your address.
• Analytics: in aggregated form, on Google's standard retention schedule.
• Server logs: a short rolling window kept by our host.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to inboxes and provider accounts is protected by strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication. Because this is a one-person business, the number of people who can see your information is exactly one.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect what you give us.

Your rights

Under the LGPD you can ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold data about you, and give you a copy;
• correct incomplete or inaccurate data;
• anonymise, block or delete data that is not needed or was not handled lawfully;
• port your data to another provider;
• tell you who we have shared it with;
• withdraw consent, for anything based on consent; and
• object to a use based on legitimate interest.

To exercise any of these, email logan@yourbrazilguide.com. We will respond within the timeframe the law requires (generally 15 days under the LGPD). There is no charge. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are in California: you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Make a request at the same email.

If you are in Canada: you can request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Same email.

Marketing emails

If you signed up for the guide, or previously sent us a trip inquiry, we may send you occasional emails — seasonal travel notes and things we think are genuinely useful, roughly once a month. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate and permanent. You can also just ask us to stop.

Children

This website and our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so more visibly.
